Ideas for Reading at Home
Our 6th grade students are invited to read 10
challenging books approved by the school librarian and receive a certificate
from the CKSD School Board in June and an award pin.
Kitsap Regional Library's Summer Reading Program
for 2008 is "Catch the Reading Bug". Read just 10 hours and get a FREE paperbook
book, plus a Kitsap County Fair ticket (as long as supply lasts). Get
registered at any branch of the public library and start reading beginning June
21!
Book Adventure is a
FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create
their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice
quizzes on the books they've read, and earn points and prizes for their literary
successes. Book Adventure was created by and is maintained by Sylvan Learning.
